My g-grandfather was MICHAEL (Mical) BENJAMIN CARTER born 12024-1845 in Wayne Co., TN married TENNESSEE ANN FOSTER born 11-25-1868 and I have a list of their children being as listed below: > WILLIAM JOSEPH b. 5-19-1860 d. 8-?-1944 > MARY JANE b. 3-15-1871 d. 10-?-1951 > JAMES (JIM) b. 11-16-1872/73 d. 1956 > JOHN HARDY (my grandfather) b. 1-13-1875 d. 1956 > LEE GRAND b. 1877 who died shortly after birth > AMENA (Rene Ann) b. 2-13-1879 d. 11-23-1921 > BENNIE LEE b. 12-22-1881 d. 7-6-1944 > NOLLIE b. 7-3-1883 d. 8-27-1883 > MATTIE BELL b. 5-?-1884 d. ? > BERRY ABNER b. 11-8-1886/87 d. 8-?-1975 > CARREL (BERT) b. 10-?-1889 d. 1960's > LUCY TENNESSEE b. 3-1-1891 > THOMAS OTTO b. 12-5-1894 > Michael Benjamin served in the Calvary on the Union side of the Civil War. I have a distant cousin on another side of my Carter family who is from the Summitt side who said he saw a 1850 Tennessee Census, 5th Civil District, Wayne county, enumerated on October 8, 1850 with this family who could possibly be the parents of Michael but I have yet to find this because you have to be a member of some site that he found it on.
