Does anyone have any information on Jesse Carter (who died in 1804 in the Wake County/Chatham County area of North Carolina), and his wife Ruth? I'm still trying to sort through the two Thornton Carters who followed each other from VA, to NC, and then to TN. My Thornton (I think), and Ruth Carter, both appear in the 1820 Wake County tax list, and Ruth and William Carter are listed as Jesse Carter's beneficiaries. Does anyone know who this Jesse's father was? I swear that my very first act, when I walk through The Pearly Gates, is going to be to hunt down Thornton Carter, and ask him who his parents were!!
