John C Carter was born in Ohio in 1831. I estimate he died after the 1880 census as I find him no more. From census records I have found his mother was Elizabeth born in 1800 in either Tennessee or Virginia. John married Elizabeth Mathews and had four children: Zerelda Carter, George W Carter, Mary Jane Carter, and John William Carter. My gg grandmother is Mary Jane Carter. She was born in Colorado and died in Montana. I am searching for more information on John C Carter. Any links to anyone.
