Our odd name is not so odd, but wonderfully different... KETURAH Carter..... Keturah is from the Bible. and it sure beats another Sarah or Elizabeth. Keturah Carter... not much is known about her....it seems that she was in Pittsyvannia Co., VA and married a Armstead Blevins. They latter moved to KY and then on to Tenn. Armstead Blevins was in the war of 1812 and faught along his son Hugh Armstrong Blevins. Armstead either dies or disapears...or both. And Keturah goes to Arkansas with some of her kids. Where she dies..The name Keturah is passed on to one of their daughters. Keturah Blevins. Both Keturahs used the nickname "Kittie".
