    3. List, I'm curious about whether or not it was customary for parents to give their children first names of places?? My 5g grandmother was Selah CARTER b abt 1795 MS m. Charles C. CAMPBELL 9-1-1813 Natchez, Adams Co, MS b.? BTW, there is a Selah River going through MS very near Louisiana. Charles and Selah resided in Franklin County, MS from 1816-1837. A Joseph CARTER signed the marriage license stating that Selah was of age to marry. A Vinson CARTER had Charles C. CAMPBELL as extr in his will. In 1820 there are Joseph, Vinson, James, and a Wm K all on the same page of the census. By 1830 None are there. I cannot locate where they may have gone. Charles and Selah named their children; Elon, Malatheall, Fountain, Permelia, Huldah, and George W. The first three names are quite unusual and makes me wonder just where they came from?? I see a lot of posts on Fountain, IN which makes me wonder if these CARTER's are somehow connected to those of IN. I'm also aware of Elon College in NC, however it was not yet in existence at the time my Elon was born. Malatheall, no clue!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Sharla Linex Researching: Paternal: ALLISON, BOSTICK, BURDETTE, EASTERLY, EPPINETTE, HORN, LENNOX/LENOX/LINEX, WILLIAMSON Maternal: BRANCH, CALLAWAY, CAMPBELL, CARTER, DEATS, DAWSON, HOLDEN, NICKS,
