BRENDA HAS FAMILY IN N.O. AND HAS BEEN BUSY WITH LOTS OF STUFF Hi everyone, By the time you read this email, Viola and Clarence, should be in the arms of their daughter, Sharah. I am sure there will lots of hugs, kisses and tears. Tears of joy and relief. They are due to arrive via air about 9:50 PM tonight. After reading the news article about Clarence, I sent an email to the reporter that interviewed him. This was even before I knew that he and Viola would be arriving here in MD soon. I would like to share the email she sent me with you. I have put the email in bold print. I am so very proud of Clarence. Read and find out why. Brenda Please send this to other family members and friends. In a message dated 9/5/2005 11:14:38 A.M. Clarence, his wife and daughter were doing well, but Clarence was very worried about their health. You should know that he played a crucial role in calming the crowd at the Convention Center to prepare them for the arrival for the National Guard and subsequent rescue. He walked up and down the street, explaining to them the need to remain calm and not start any violence. Because of him and others like him, I believe they got out sooner. The crowd was cheering the National Guard when it arrived, instead of being angry. I hope that you've heard from him, and that your family will be reunited very soon. Please know how very sorry I am for what this tragedy has done to your family. Please take care, and let me know when you hear from them and how they are doing. I pray that they are all safe and sound. He's my cousin and the families has been very worried about him and his wife, Viola. How did they seem when you interviewed them? Did you know that he and his wife both suffer from diabetes? They also have a daughter that was sent to Baton Rouge from New Orleans. Her name is Sheilia Horton-Carter. She's there with her husband, Terry, and their daughter. Also victims of Katrina. Viola and Clarence have a daughter, Sharah Horton, that lives in Laurel, MD. She is very worried about her family. She also has a niece, Danielle Brantley, that attended Xavier University that has been rescued and sent to Alabama. Her mother, Stephanie Brantley (GA), was scheduled to meet her there. I haven't spoke to her yet but I am sure she is a very happy and relieved mother. Actually, the LA governor's office called Sharah to inform her about the article you wrote and gave her the web site address so she could read it. Did Clarence say more in your interview than was reported? If you have any information about any of these people, please contact us for we are very worried about them. Any type of information would be greatly appreciated. I would like to thank you in advance for your help and reply.
