    3. George can you tell me where Samuel Carter lived and his time frame? I am going to add more on Daniel Carter and maybe someone will recognize him. He was a witness to a deed in Goochland County in 1746 from Henry Trent to Robert Goode along with Bennett Goode and Thomas Turpin. He went to Henrico County for the trial of William Day against Poval Carter. Povai Carter l, paid him and a Giles Carter for 2 days attendance and traveling 37 miles twice and ferriage. Henrico County Court Orders pg 157 June 1757. (Robert Carter in Cumberland County had a son Giles. ) Daniel was a an overseer for John Pleasants in Cumberland County. In 1763. he was a witness to a deed when John Pleasants Sr. and Jr. sold 800 acres to Joseph Calland and Maurice Langhorne. He was in various trials as a witness. He bought 100 acres from Hezekiah and his son Daniel Mosby, Hezekiah inherited from his father- in-law Nicholas Cox. A Giles Carter was a witness to a land transaction of Nicholas to John Martin then in Henrico in 1728. The land Daniel bought in 1775 was on Maple Swamp which fell into Powhatan County. One of his Daniel's sons was John B. Carter who was born 11 February 1758. He married Elizabeth Mosby. According to his pension application John was a son of Daniel and Jane? John was not in Daniel's will although he was on executor's bond. Daniel's children named in his will were Charles Carter, Povall Carter ll, born 1762, Susannah Carter married William Talley in 1788, Frances Carter married William Sallee in 1796. George Sallee married Ann Carter 1800, and Milley Carter married John Jesse in 1805. In the marriages of George Sallee and William Sallee, Benjamin Carter was a witness to both marriages. Povall Carter married Martha Davis in 1792. She was a daughter of William Davis, deceased , and Elizabeth. He moved to Prince Edward County where some of his Davis kinfolks were living . Jenny Carter , another daughter of Daniel's, married Alexander Trent in 1808 in Prince Edward. Wilson Carter a son of Povall ll who married Sarah Davis a daughter of Jesse Davis in Cumberland County in 1815. He lived and died in Prince Edward County. He was a grandson of Daniel Carter.
