The unit was assigned to Fagan's, A. T. Hawthorne's, and Roane's Brigade in the Trans-Mississippi Department and participated in the conflicts at Helena and Jenkins' Ferry. It continued to fight in some minor actions in Arkansas and Louisiana, then disbanded. Colonel William H. Brooks, Lieutenant Colonels T. M. Gunte and James R. Pettigrew, and Major F. R.
