    3. Benn watchin ya'll's rhetoric, glad it's settled. The mailing list are so important to new researchers who are looking for a clue or shred of evidence as to where to start their research. I desc. from Barton Carter, born abt. 1794 in Robeson Co., NC. Married 1) Mary Wiggins 5-27-1816 in Robeson Co. Had the following children: Samuel, Robert, Gadi, Calvin Homer, Caroline and an Unknown. Three of these children were born in Robeson Co., and 2 were born in TN. Barton married 2) Elizabeth Jones, their children were, Sarah Ann and Isaac Barton, both born in Trigg Co., KY. Barton married 3) Female Unknown, their children were, Elias, Joel Anderson, and Vanessa (who actually may have been "taken in" to the family), the boys were born in Union Co., ILL., Vanessa may have been born in TN. Barton moved into Missouri from ILL., where he died bet. 1870-1880 either in Wayne or Carter Co. Barton probably desc. from James Carter >Isaac Carter born abt. 1754, (Isaac Carter born abt. 1754, a "Molato" taxable in his father's Bladen Co., household from 1768 to 1776, head of a Bladen Co., household of one white male 21 to 60, two under 21 or over 60 and three white females in 1786. He was granted 200 acres in Bladen Co., on Hogg Swamp east of Tadpole on 11 March 1775 and sold his land to his father on 7 March 1783. land grants for Issac Carter in Bladen Co.
