Given the increased activity on the Carter List, I am asking for any help with research on either the ancestors or the descendants of brothers: Mirabeau B. Lamar CARTER (c. 1848 GA-1928 TX) and Jesse L. CARTER (c.1852 GA- ?). Their first known direct Carter ancestor was Kindred CARTER (c 1750 ?- 1800 GA). Here is the little that I have on this Carter family: I. Kindred CARTER married Ruth (--?--). He was born circa 1749/50. He died c. 1800 in Columbia County, Georgia. A. James CARTER was born circa 1773 North Carolina. He married Eleanor "Ellen" DUCKWORTH before 1798, probably in Warren County, Georgia. Eleanor "Ellen" was the daughter of Jeremiah DUCKWORTH and Christiana RAMSEY . 1. James D. CARTER married Mary E. HARRIS, daughter of Gray HARRIS and Nancy FULLER, on 8 Jun 1847 Stewart County, Georgia. James D. died circa 1854 Talbot County, Georgia. a) Mirabeau B. Lamar CARTER married Malinda Francis HARRIS. He was born on 8 Apr 1848. He appeared on the census of 14 Aug 1860 (Muscogee Co GA, Age 12, Household of Gray Harris). He appeared on the census of 1880 (Sabine Co TX, Age 30). He died on 8 Jan 1928 Shelby County, Texas, at age 79. He was buried Center Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas. b) Jesse L. CARTER was born circa 1852 Georgia. He appeared on the census of 30 Jun 1870 (Muscogee Co GA, Age 17, Household of Thomas & Julia Amanda Harris Ritch). He and Susan (--?--) appeared on the census of 1880 (Same page in Census as Gray Harris, his grandfather, and Emily Harris Blair Lunsford, his Aunt). (1) Jim CARTER was born circa 1877. He appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of Jesse L. CARTER and Susan (--?--). (2) Clarence CARTER was born circa 1879. He appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of Jesse L.
