My gr-grandmother was Alice Hannah Carter. She married Hiram Williams in Cumberland Co., KY on July 16, 1881. Alice was born Aug 3, 1865 in Cumberland Co., KY (we think). Her father is said to have been Clinton Carter and we do not know her mother's given name, but her maiden name was Turner. Hiram and Alice moved to Grayson Co., TX between Dec. 1890 and May 1893. They stayed in Grayson Co. until 1900 when they moved to Hopkins Co., TX, where they lived until their deaths. Alice had a sister named Melia/Mela/Amelia who married Alfred Anderson in KY. They also went to Texas about the same time as Alice and Hiram and finally stayed in Hopkins Co., TX, where they are buried. We think there were at least 2 other children, Jane and John.
