My CARTER line brick wall is Stephen CARTER b about 1765 - possibly in NJ. He signed the petition for transferrence of the Washington/Greene Co, PA area to PA between 1776 & 1780, is on the Tax Lists for Amwell Twp., Washington Co., PA for the years 1781, 1783, & 1784, and he lived near Atkison's Fort on the middle fork of Lindsleys, on the Ten Mile. He emigrated, with his wife, Elizabeth PARKHURST, to North Bend (near Cincinnati), OH about April 1789 and was killed and scalped there about March 1790.
