Any information regarding Nicholas Carter born in KY (poss. Nelson Cty) in the 1790s, married to Helena (Elainey, Elviney) Whitfield (Whitefield, Whitfill), born around 1800, or his offspring (including my ancestor Joseph T. born 1823 in Indiana) will be most welcome. Nicholas *may* have been a son of Abednego, born ca 1771, possibly in KY. Also, I would be thrilled beyond belief if anyone knows what happened to my g-aunt Mary Ann Carter, born in Oregon in 1865 to my g-g grandmother Laura Ann Carter and an unidentified man of African descent. She is shown in the 1880 census, but drops out of sight after that. Last, if anyone knows anything about a woman named Belle Carter, also born in 1865 in Oregon, who did time in the state penitentiary there, I'd be interested in knowing her story.
