Carter ESTATES: Jesse Carter, Dec. 1804. Wife RUTH CARTER, son William Carter. RUTH CARTER 1828. Estate papers recite: Thomas J. Carter (Captain Thomas) executor. HEIRS: Ceily Nichols, Mary Carter, Susan Carter, Sarah Carter, Jincy Carter, Rebecca Carter, Sally Carter, son Thomas Carter. My QUESTIONS are as follows: (1) Where does Thornton Carter fit into this picture? (2) How is Thomas J. Carter related to Jesse, Ruth, and William Carter? (3) How are the heirs related to Jesse, Ruth, and William Carter? I have been trying to prove that my Thornton Carter, born in Virginia in 1778, and married in Wake County, NC in 1811, is related to the Captain Thomas Carter line.
