My 2 x great grandfather was Thomas Charles CARTER. It appears he was an illegitimate child of Sarah CARTER who later married James GODLEY. Thomas was born on 21st July 1845. He migrated to Australia with his mother, step father, brother and 2 half siblings in 1858. They then lived in the New England region of NSW. Sarah CARTER's parents were Thomas CARTER and Lucy PATCHING? Her siblings as known to date are all good Biblical names, Naomi, Mary, Ephraim and perhaps more. These were born in Falmer or Brighton Sussex in the 1820s. I would love to make contact with any CARTERs from that area in that time. I believe there are several CARTER families who came to Australia who were from Falmer and Brighton, and I would love nothing better than to piece them all together!
