Does anyone have any connections to a Obed Carter born around 1826 to 1832 or his son Henry Carter born in duplin county NC in 1859? Henry Carter is age 11 on the 1870 duplin county NC census but is not on the 1900 duplin county census. however there is a George Carter on the 1900 Rockingham county NC census age 41. I'm thinking this could be Obed Carter's son that was born in Duplin county NC. a family tree has George Carter from Duplin County NC listed as George W Carter which is also how the George in Rockingham is listed and both born the same year. I'm trying to find out who Obed & Sallie Carter Carter's parents are and where they came from. He married a lady named either Sarah or Sallie Carter. They both were carters.
