    3. Hi all; I've just subscribed in an attempt to find a hidden branch of my family tree. CARTER seems to be the closest surname I can find to CARDER on Rootsweb, so forgive me if I've chosen the wrong list! My earliest Carder is: Henry Carder, born about 1820 in England. Married Sarah Jane McCracken. Henry died November 05, 1915 in Albuna, Ontario. Children are: J. John, born October 06, 1869 Eliza, born August 05, 1873 Robert Samuel and William James, twin boys born April 06, 1877 Uriah, born November 03, 1879 (twin, other stillborn) Nelson Edwin, supposedly born about 1880 Another list of children (in Sarah Carder's obituary) gives two daughters and seven sons. The girls are not mentioned, but the sons are James, Robert, Wilbert, George, Joseph, Thomas, and Edwin. The children are a bit of a problem in another way... Nelson Edwin's birth wasn't recorded at the archives, although the four dates I give above were. He was supposedly a twin... so I guess either Sarah had a THIRD set of twins that didn't get recorded, or Uriah's name was changed to Nelson Edwin after the birth was registered. Any help would be much appreciated, especially in finding out where in England Henry might have originated! Kirsten Rutherford

    3. Hello Carters! I am trying to find anything on my ggg-grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Carter. She was born around 1801 in TN and died in Granbury, TX about 1880. Her father was John Carter and her brother was Edmund Carter, born in VA. Edmund was about 13 years younger than Sarah. Sarah (Sallie) married Amon Bond in Blount Co TN on 10-12-1818. She had 17 children, including three sets of twins, in TN before moving to TX in the 1850's. Edmund was living with Sarah and Amon in the 1840 or 1850 TN census (this info is at home and I can't remember). She was supposedly half Cherokee, so I assume her mother was full Cherokee. I would love to know her mother's name and more about her father. Any help is appreciated. Terry

    3. Looking for info on Walter A. CARTER, he married Eva HAUK, (do not have birth, death, or marriage dates). They lived around Shelby Co., IN, and had 2 sons that I know of - Joseph Frank "Abe" CARTER and Bryan Keith CARTER. Walter & Eva died of a virus (Ithink) that was going thru, it also took Bryan as a child. There may have been another child born to Walter & Eva. Joseph married Thelma Irene PHERSON and they had 4 children, Mary Ann, Morris, Marvin, Martha. Marvin was my 1st husband. Thelma was the dau. of William PHERSON and Katie Mae HALL.     3. I am seeking information on my g-g/m, Mary Emer CARTER, b. 01 Apr 1854, md. John Jefferson TEEL; d.28 Oct 1941. Mary lived in TN, where most (if not all) of her 9 or 10 children were born. Either 2 or 3 died in TN before the family picked up and moved to TX (John by covered wagon across the Miss. River and through AR; Mary with the younger children by train through MS and LA into TX). John and youngest dau. Myrtle continued on to NM, due to John's tuberculosis, where he died Aug 1907. Mary ("Emer") remained with the rest of the children (after John's death) in Hopkins, Hunt, and Dallas counties. Children of John Jefferson and Mary Emer CARTER TEEL: - (dau.) - Ada (d. at 18 yrs of age in TN) - (son) - Omar ("Om") - (son) - Granville ("Gran") - (dau.) - Maggie (d. in TN when struck by lightning) - (son) - Commodore ("Com") - (unknown child) - (died before Sep 1908) - (son) - Harvey - b. 14 Mar 1882; d.
