2. New Variant Infecting Thousands - WORM_BADTRANS.B (Medium Risk) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This memory-resident Internet worm is a variant of WORM_BADTRANS.A. It propagates via MAPI32, has a Key Logger component, and arrives with randomly selected double-extension filenames. It does not require the email receiver to open the attachment for it to execute. It uses a known vulnerability in Internet Explorer-based email clients (Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express) to automatically execute the file attachment. This is also known as Automatic Execution of Embedded MIME type. This worm is currently spreading in-the-wild, and is classified as medium risk. As of November 30, there have been more than 20,000 infections of WORM_BADTRANS.B worldwide, according to Trend Micro's World Virus Tracking Center at: http://wtc.trendmicro.com/wtc/ WORM_BADTRANS.B is detected by Trend Micro pattern file #170 or #970. There has been a worm working it's way around and is on this site too. Norton caught the one I received from here the other day. If you all know how to reach any of these people another we should do so. Warn them not to reply to you or the site until they know their computer is clear. These are void of a message and the address has a "underscore" like so _ before it. (the address) It is know as " BadTrans.B "; minus the quotes. Norton jumps up all over my screen to alert me. I couldn't miss it. Nice guy. ;-) He updates all by himself. Julia, Frame, WV is in Braxton Co. If there is another one I don't know about it. My g-grandfather had a brother settle at the far western side of Braxton Co which is the area Frame is in. He was John Carter (brother) but so far I can't come up with the Carter's you name. I have looked under the Carder spelling as well. They crossed the county line back and forth so difficult to keep up with them sometimes.Would you have a little more info you could give me. I have census records for Braxton, 1880 for Clay, Calhoun, Gilmer and a few more. I have Braxton marriage records 1836-1932, Lewis Co 1816-1865 and some more material. I posted this message when Rootsweb was down. I learned from another list that all messages posted during that time were lost, so if anyone did happen to receive this before, please forgive the duplicate...... Haven't posted this dilemma for awhile, so I'll try again. John and Frances (Kibler) Carter were married in Jasper Co. Illinois in 1860. They moved to Newton County Missouri sometime between 1878 and 1880. 1880 Oldest daughter, Mary, was married to Benjamin Turner, living in Newton County. Daughter Jane, born about 1863, was possibly living with and employed by the Parker family in Newtonia. Other children: Elizabeth (or Ann), Emma, Bertha ("Carrie"), George and David were at home. 1881 John Carter died in August in Newton County MO. Daughter Ida Mae was born in Dec. of 1881. 1883 Frances married Henry Clapper in McDonald Co. MO. Emma married Henry's son, Calvin Clapper. 1885 April - Frances divorced Henry. May - Marriage license for Frances Carter and William A. Baldridge in Jasper Co. MO. June - James CARTER, son of Frances and ??, was born in Arkansas. (per 1900 census) 1895 "Carrie" lived in Reno County KS, married John Koontz in 1892. Mary was in Iowa, married George Wheeler in 1890. Emma was still in MO. I cannot find Frances or any of the other children. 1900 James was living with his sister Mary in Douglas County KS. Ida reappeared in Reno Co. and married Frank Sutton in 1900. John and Carrie Koontz were still in Reno Co., near Hutchinson KS. I could not find anyone else in 1900 census index. 1910 George seems to have appeared in Reno County KS, married Daisy Bell in 1906. 1920 Lost George, but found David living in Denver, CO with his wife Luella ("Lulu") and children Gladys and Earl. (Earl was born in 1904 in Colorado.) MISSING: Frances - Can't find her after 1885. Almost positive that she died before 1900, possibly before 1890. Jane and Elizabeth/Ann (depending on the census)- Can't find any marriage or death records that even look like a good possibility. George and James - One of them apparently died in WWI. Family stories: Carrie, my grandmother, was said to have been raised by an uncle in Texas. (Possibly Emanuel Kibler) Ida's grandsons said they had never heard anything about Texas at all. They said Carrie "raised" Ida after Frances died, but Ida was not with John and Carrie Koontz in the 1895 Reno Co. KS census. (There is, however, a photo of Ida, James, and Carrie that was taken about 1895.) Ida's grandsons also have information that one of the brothers was killed at the Battle of Argonne in WWI, but no name. If anything about this family sounds familiar at all, I would love to hear from you! Thanks, Nancy __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Find the one for you at Yahoo!
