    3. Are they related to the carters in GA.? I am trying to find my Phillips and Carters connections. We were always around Carters and I was sure somewhere in the lines we were related. Just can't prove it. The Carter were in St. Louis in 1938 and in Illinois and Indiana by the late 1970's, I do believe they had family and cousins named Frost, Brown, and Kerstings. An connections? CARTER, Louise D - passed away insan francisco on December 26, 2001, joining her beloved husband of 62 years, Ernest Carter, M.D. Born February 6, 113, the fith child of Henry and Cora Duminie in New Orleans, Louisiana, sister to Henry Bessie, Alberta, Elnora, Cora, Aurlie and Leonard. A graduate of Zavier University in New Orleans. Magnum cum Laude. Louise taught school there until moving to San Francisco in 1951, where in addition to being a homemaker, she spent much of her time as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, Jack and Jill Club, as a teacher, and quietly helping others. A loving mother and sister. She is survived by daughters Lynette Carter Hart, M.D., Jannah Aniter Carter Yasin, Esq., and La Verne Carter Pitts: son-in-law, Victor Carlos Pitts: grandchildren, Sarina, Lena, Tews, Babet, Hilda and Carol; 5 great-grandchildren and sister, Aurlie Lieteau. Louise will be remembered fondly not only by her family but also by her many friends, especially those who! enjoyed years of her company playing cards and taking swims. Beloved husband of Dorothy Carter, cherished father of Sterling Keeley, Christine Thompson and her husband Robert, Philip Carter and his wife Stephanie , and Scott Carter and his wife Jolynn; devoted grandfather of Geoffrey, Erin, Christopher, Kelly and Victoria. Born October 6, 1916 in Phillips, Maine. John was raised in Portland, Oregon. He was a graduate of Reed College (class of 1939); he was an active member and leader of the Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout. His business career spanned many years in San Francisco as a stockbroker.
