Author: DanielTroublefield Surnames: Carson Classification: will Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.carson/2911.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Will of Walter Carson of West Nottingham Hundred Cecil County Maryland transcribed by Daniel Troublefield 8/6/12 Maryland, Register of Wills Book, 1629-1983, Cecil, Wills 1777-1810 vol 3-6 Liber FF, No. 6, Pages 225-227, Images 482-483 of 650 images www.familysearch.org No. 121 Walter Carson Novr. 24th 1800 I Walter Carson of West Nottingham Hundred Cecil County being weak of Body but of sound Disposing Mind Do hereby make my last Will and Testament - To wit - First and Principally I commend my Soul to God Who gave it and my Body to [page 226] to the Earth to be buried in a Decent and Christian like Manner - Item After all my Just Debts and funeral Expences are Discharged I give and bequeath unto my loving and well beloved Wife Agnes one fourth Part of all my Property of every Description Item I give and bequeath to my acknowledged Sons John and Walter and unto my Daughter Agnes the Residue of my Property of every Description to be equally Devided among them they to pay Yearly and every Year unto my said Daughter Agnes Four Pounds untill she arrive at the Age of Sixteen Years Lastly I do hereby Constitute and appoint John Wiley of Chester County and my acknowledged Son John Carson to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all other Wills and bequests heretofore made Confirming this only to be my last Will and Testament this twenty first Day of September in the Year of our Lord Eighteen hundred - Walter Carson (LS) Signed Sealed Published and Declared in the Presence of us } John Knight } Eli Kirk } Cecil County SS Novr 24th 1800 Then came John Carson and John Wiely and made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that the foregoing is the true and Whole last Will and Testament of Walter Carson late of said County Deceased that hath come to their hands and Possession and that they know of no other and also that they have given Due Notice to the Persons Interested of the Contents of this will Sworn before David Smith Reg.r Cecil County SS Novr. 24th 1800 Then came John Knight and Eli Kirk the two Subscribing Witnesses of the within last Will and Testament of Walter Carson late of said County Decd. and the said [John] made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God and the said Eli being one of the People called Quaker Did Solemnly Sincerely and truly Affirm that they did see the said Testator sign and Seal this Will, that they heard him publish pronounce [page 227] and Declare the Same to be his last Will and Testament, that at the time of his so Doing he was to the best of their Apprehension of a Sound and Disposing Mind Memory and Understanding, And that they Severally Subscribed their Names as Witnesses to this Will in the Presence and at the Request of the Testator - Sworn and aff'd. before David Smith Reg.
