    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DiH.2ACEB/1201.2.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Art, I'm researching Carson, Patterson and McCord ancestors in PA (Lancaster, Dauphin, York, and/or Chester counties_ and I think my ancestor may connect to either the Samuel Carson who married Janet Patterson or another Samuel who married Jane Patterson (not sure yet). If you can offer any hints, that would be great. My ancestor David Carson was born 1755-65 (probably in PA) and lived in eastern TN 1785-1799 or thereabouts then moved to Buncombe NC. His wife named Catherine may have been a Patterson based on his involvement in a will of Samuel Patterson in Haywood NC 1815 (father maybe a Mathew or Samuel Patterson). David and Catherine named their children Matthew, Catherine, Virginia Jane, Samuel John, Ambrose and William and maybe Robert (plus 4 more daughters). A William Carson married Margaret McCord in 1760 in Dauphine/Lancaster PA. In 1790, a William Carson died in Washington TN and left a widow named Margaret along with daughters Janet and Mary and sons William, John and (based on other county records) sons David and Robert and one more son. David Carson was an executor of the will. I thought these may be the same people and his parents. There were some Patterson/Carson connections in Washington Co TN. Do you have information or abstracts on the 1766 and 1759 wills of the two Samuel Carsons in PA? That might help sort of some things. I think our line connects with one of those but I'm not sure which one. Thanks, Gary Carson Texas
