Craig MD. "Dr. James W. Craig was born in Belmont County, Ohio, Jan. 17, 1826. His father, Samuel C. Craig, was a native of Beaver County, Pa., who settled in Belmont County and afterward in this county near Shelby, where he spent the remainder of his life upon a farm." "A.A. Graham History of Richland County OH 1880 Currans were the first actual settlers in township about 1815/16. Setteling on section 15 about 1820 was Almon Hayes in 1820. The early settler who came a little later wereSection 16 Carson Craig, David Funk, John Grailow and John Rice." Samuel Carson Craig often went by his middle name. He is burried in Richland County OH. He was born about 1788. d. February 7, 1862 in Richland County OH. I was hoping that since he used his middle name as a given name, in part to distinguish himself from another Samuel Craig in Richland County. That he may have been honoring his mothers side of the family. Does anyone on the Carson site have any additional information on James Craig married to Elizabeth Carson, and Elizabeth Carsons' family? Samuel Carson Craig's other children are: Margaret b. about 1825 James W. b. about 1826 Milton b. about 1828 William December 3, 1832 (my line) Elizabeth b. about 1833 Joseph b. March 29, 1835 Mary b. about 1839 Thanks again. Any one wishing information on William and decendants I am willing to help.
