Kit Carson's first daughter Adeline "Prairie Flower" Carson was born circa 1835. Her Native American mother died and Kit sent her back to Missouri to be educated in Catholic schools. Somehow she ended up in California in her early 20's. She is supposed to have died near Mono Lake in 1861 after her husband George Stilts had died in 1854.
