    1. John M. CARSON, son of John CARSON and Huldah (SWAIM?)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: ALLEN, CARSON, CORY, SWAIM Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DiH.2ACEB/1717.1.1 Message Board Post: John Carson's wife, Huldah was probably a SWAIM. In 1850, the name is indexed and spelled "SWIM," but a SWAIM descendant has told me that his family pronounced the name "SWIM." This is probably Huldah on the 1850 Census: 1850 Census Parke Co. A woman named Hulda SWAIM is buried in the same cemetery, with no headstone and no dates available. This is probably Huldah CARSON. I believe she died by 1870 as her son, John M. CARSON, is living with a SWAIM family in 1870, and also, he has a guardian, Rev. Cyrus B. ALLEN by 1871 (see pension application above and 1880 census below.) 1870 Census, Fountain Co.
