Hi cousin! I descend from Uriah Jr too. We're Uriah, Uriah, John Harrison, John Washington, Albert Eugene, Eugene, Kit, and me! So, I DO descend from Kit Carson! Ha! There is a myth/rumor that Uriah Sr was William Uriah and a mysterious son of William of Ireland/Iredell, NC who married Eleanor McDuff. You will find this information EVERYWHERE but no one has any source to back it up! Apparently a cousin has a Bible where Uriah Sr was written as William. This was a Bible written in after the fact and I haven't seen it. Some have Uriah Sr married to Mary Ballard and again this appears to be a mistake. He married Mary Cook, a Quaker from Pennsylvania. He later was received by the Quakers. When he died, Mary married Caleb Sumner. Uriah did not have any other wives after Mary Cook.
