Our family is from the John Carson who came to SC in 1767, and like many, we have the legend of being related to Kit Carson. It seems to me that the connection has to be made in Ireland or Scotland. Yes, I would say that all of Kit Carson's family born in America have been traced out of the 1700s. The connection must be in Ireland or Scotland, if one at all. We have that story too, those of us descending from Uriah Carson, the story was passed down to many family branches.
