I keep stumbling across Carsons from the Samuel of Chester PA (died 1766) line and from New Castle DE although I still think my David more likely connects to a Lancaster group of brothers/cousins. I just don't know yet if that group connects to the York or Chester group or neither. Here are some questions (sorry for the length): - Has a Carson male relative of yours done the YDNA test and, if so, are the results posted? - George W. Carson born 1797 is listed as a son of Walter Carson and Agnes. G.W. was in Macon NC 1840 two houses away from William Carson born 1801 (from my line) who married Lydia Crawford in Haywood NC. Do you think this just a coincidence? William moved back to Haywood NC before 1850. - Hannah Carson born c1740 New Castle DE married James Rankin. They were in Guilford NC later near my Carsons in the 1770s. She is listed as a dtr of Samuel of Chester. Is this accurate and, if so, did they marry in DE? Did any others move to Guilford, Orange or Caswell NC? - A Carson that is an exact match for my YDNA descended from Thomas Carson b1740 who married Mary Smith in New Castle DE, then they moved to western PA later. Do you have a Thomas first name in your line? This is the same geographic area as your Samuel Carson of Chester. - Do you know Jane Pattersons parents? Could she be the "Jayn" daughter of William Patterson who died 1745 in Lancaster PA? A Samuel Patterson married Martha Ramsey 1763 in Lancaster PA. The wedding was by Rev. John Roan who married some of my Carson line around the same time. Samuel's parents were Samuel Patterson (died in 1777 Sadsbury Lancaster) and Rebecca. Samuel's grandfather was William Patterson who died 1745, leaving children Samuel, Francis, Anna, Caytron, Jayn and Mary. My David Carson was executor for a Samuel Patterson who died 1815 in Haywood NC who may connect to this PA line. Thanks for any info you can share. Gary
