The YDNA results of those Carson males who have tested so far indicate otherwise. There are actually two distinct lines (genetically) of Carsons in the US. One is from the "R" western European haplogroup (with variations within that group) and the other line is from the "I" Nordic (Viking or Scandinavian) haplogroup. The "R" group is much more common that the "I" group in Britain. According to genetic experts, these two lines are not genetically related unless we go back thousands of years. One of those from the I haplogroup says they connect to the Kit Carson line. I've not seen details confirming that connection. One or some from the R haplogroup may also say they connect. My main goal right now is to trace my ancestry with as much supporting data as possible. Who knows what may turn up! Gary
