Indiana Civil Order Book 8, P. 400 SEPT 1865 Term The State of Indiana vs. Samuel CARSON No. 34: Indictment for Grand Larceny Comes now the State by Wood her atty and the defendent being brought into court is asks if he has any thing to say why sentence should not be pronounced against him on the verdict herein, Says he has nothing to say when the court pronounced judgment on the verdict in this behalf. It is therefore considered by the court that the State of Indiana recover of the defendant five dollars the fine herein and also the costs of this prosecution taxed at [blank] dollars and [blank] cents. And that said defendant be confined at hard labour in the State prison for the term of two years and that he be disfranchised for the term of two years from this date. (Copy issued to Shff.)
