Hi, Any body have the parents of them. From Pa. to Orange Co. N.C. Then to Washington Co. N.C. now Tn. Phillip
Marilyn, There is a Carson DNA site (link below). The Recruitment link is to the lab I used. They seem as good as any others, and the results are compared to other Carsons, which is the initial priority. Carson results are posted there as long as the person gives permission. Fortunately, mine matched two others, so there are three now. There is also a WFN page where anybody can search matches with any other surnames. For example, there is a Carswell and a MacReyolds individual that matched the 12 marker exactly. That would mean a common ancestor somewhere back there. http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/c/carson/index.html Good luck, Gary In a message dated 9/5/2006 12:09:02 PM Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes: thanks for your post. My ggrandparents were William and Sarah Carson who came from somewhere in Co Tyrone to Boston in the mid to late 1800s. They raised four children: Harold (my father born in 1917), Roberta, Frank and Donald. >From an elderly relative, now deceased, I learned that one of the Carson girls married a William Phelps in the Hartford Ct area, and another Carson girl married into the Crawford family, perhaps in Pittsburgh PA. One would think these last two links at least would be helpful, but the sheer numbers of Carsons who share a given name is overwhelming. I am hoping for some help in connecting the dots and in sharing some information re the elusive Carson clan of which I am a member. Thank you so much! Sandy (Fairhaven, MA)

Citation: At a critical stage in the battle when the 14th Corps lines were wavering and in disorder he on his own initiative bugled "to the colors" amid the 18th U.S. Infantry who formed by him, and held the enemy. Within a few minutes he repeated his action amid the wavering 2d Ohio Infantry. This bugling deceived the enemy who believed reinforcements had arrived. Thus, they delayed their attack.
