    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: gkcarson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.carson/2824.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Ginger, I did some checking (you may know some of this already). I think your Lee L. Carson was Levi Carson born Sep 1870 PA (son of Joseph Carson in Crawford Co PA 1880). As you probably know, Lee L. Carson was born Sep 1870 in PA. He and Lillie were in Whittier Ca 1930,Osage Co OK 1920,Rogers OK 1910 and Wells IN 1900 (already married). In 1900 Wells IN, Jessie M. Mead brother-in-law born March 1872 PA and sister-in-law born 1886 PA are living with Lee and Lillie (along with dtr Edith Carson born 1899). The Mead surname is the hint for finding Lee. In 1880 Jesse Mead age 8 was living in Crawford Co PA with sister Lily Mead age 3 (children of Henry and Eada Mead). This is obviously Lillian Margaret Mead Carson, wife of Lee L. Carson. In 1880, a Levi Carson age 11 was in Crawford Co PA (son of Joseph Carson 42 and Sallie 33 both born PA). This must be Lee L. born Sep 1870 PA. Lee is probably short for Levi. As you probably noticed, there are no Lee Carson names born around 1870 in PA 1880 or elsewhere. Levi's father Joseph Carson in the 1880 census says his father was born in Ireland. Hope this helps. He had two sons, Arnold and Gilbert. We used to go there with a jug for the milk straight from the cow. My grandmother lived on William Street, Bellaghy. I don't know if this will be of use to you or even if you will still be looking but we never know. Regards Anna Watson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. What's odd about it is it's not as if he says this to contradict the Ireland story it's more of a statement as if he wasn't aware the old fable is they were two Irish brothers. Wish we could determine where he was born. It would make things easier. I have a number of letters written by Amos but only one speaks of genealogy. By the way the lady didn't just post that Uriah was actually William she has an entire web site devoted to unproven information. I found it and sent the link to my cousin and she had seen it and knew all about it. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I think Uncle Amos meant in his letter that Uriah and John when their separate ways. I never put much faith in the fact that Uriah's first name was William and hope that they did slam whoever it was that posted that. I wish that we could solve this mystery as to where Uriah & John were really born. I have looked everywhere in NC that I could think of but no luck so far.
