Author: gkcarson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.carson/1336.1.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi JoAnne, Thanks for that correction. Indeed, your David Carson (born c1746, son of Robert Carson born 1717) didn't have a dtr named Martha according to the information you had sent me awhile back. I have your David listed with children named Robert, James, George, Rachel (m. Alexander Blair), Hiram, Mary Anne (married George Young), and David. Your Carson line is the one with the YDNA match with my Carson line (Robert Carson born c1730). My line moved from Lancaster/Paxtang and Cumberland PA 1760s to NC then TN (branches in SC, GA, AL, AR, TX, CA). Also in this related group were Moses Carson born 1737 (married Elizabeth Hannah) and some others. A few months ago, a descendant of a William Carson born 1720 who was in Cumberland PA matched our Carson paternal line as well. I never thought of the name Pine and will have to check that. I've also thought of the spelling Pryor or Prior. I don't think my Prine/Pine would be born in 1819 as his wife, Margaret "Peggie" GREGG CARSON was born 1804. A paternal cousin did our GREGG line back in the early 1960's and talked with a number of elderly relatives. This cousin included the little bit of CARSON information that he was given. He listed their children as: Abner, Oliver, Maggie, Charles, Frank and Julie. Annie CARSON, one of my 3rd great paternal grandmothers, was born abt.1794 Pa. She married Henry GREGG, Margaret "Peggie" GREGG CARSON'S older brother, Oct. 22, 1818 Derry Twp., Westmoreland Co., Pa. Since your Pine CARSON was living in Westmoreland Co., Pa. he may be a nephew to Annie. I'm going to keep your information as it may give me a clue. Thanks again. His will lists Robert, James,George, Rachel, Hiram, Mary Anne. There were other David Carsons in the area at that time.
