The link to the Desert Magazine article is broken. What date year issue? That would be compelling, if Louis Simmons were still her husband. This is probably not the case, however, as Adaline died sometime around 1860. Or did she? there is conflicting information. George W. Stilts turns up in Idaho in 1870 with a 10 year old son. What was the boy's name? Where did they live before Monoville? When did Adaline marry George? Did they have a son together? Did Adaline die of post childbirth infection? Two of Kit's cousins, two aunts, and two wives did, including Adaline's mother, so a genetic disposition seems likely. George did not die, may Adaline was killed, or did she live later,, divorced twice. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I do believe Adaline was buried by Mono Lake, and was married to George W. Stilts. She probably died of perpural fever, post childbirth infection. I would love to know more about George W. Stilts. He is apparently in Idaho in 1870, with a 10 year old son. What was that son's name? When did Adaline die? I think it was the winter of 1859-1860. Which Wilson Family did they live with? Where did they live prior to Monoville? When did they marry? When did Adaline leave Louis Sammon? Where was the ranch Kit bought them? I believe the "Adaline 'Kit' Carson in Aurora was an imposter. Or did Adaline divorce a second time and turn to prostitution? There is a land deed in Aurora, 1862, transferring a town lot. The necklace is quite small, made of 'trade beads' and a bear(grizzly?) claw. I believe it may have belonged to Adaline and perhaps it was a gift to her from her father,Kit. Mary T. Carson is the person through whom the necklace came to us-I know she was 4 years older than Kit- I am wondering if she cared for Adaline while Adaline was in school in Missouri. According to my grandmother the line was Carson-Beedle-Gilkey. Any information on Adaline would be appreciated( info about the 'Seminary', etc.) Thanks and May God Bless you, ed Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He was from Armagh and was a joiner. Possibly could have been from over the border in Co.Down. His daughter Maria was born in 1827 in Armagh. She married a James Sinnott from Dublin and they came over to Leeds, Yorkshire, England either late 1850's or early 1860's. Any help much appreciated. Do you know of her. She pre-deceased her father (before 1827). I have been trying to determine the names of her children, of which I believe there were four. Two were, I believe, David and Isaac Butler. The other two, perhaps, had the surname Fitzgerald. Compare notes? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am also curious about the first wife of David b.1741 since she would be my real GGGGGGgrandmother if family lore is correct in saying that his first wife was the mother of Robert. With the possiblility of him marrying in either county that he resided it would be hard to pinpoint the correct David if any marriage records WERE found unless she left a will which is highly unlikely. This is something we will probably never know. The only other document that might point to the mother's name is a will left by Robert's other two siblings from this first wife.
