Apparently the 1871 date is their marriage? I.e. they are not found in the 1870 census? How about 1880, 1900, etc? Did Massachusetts have the 5-year censuses (e.g. 1875, 1885, etc)? Did they live their lives in Needham? If so, the county should have a death record, that will lead (hopefully) to an obit which might (again, hopefully) have lots of stuff in it like who Elizabeth's survivors were (names and places). Also, church records of the kids' baptisms. Maybe some siblings came as sponsors?
