He was a foundry worker in Lowell at the time of his death. I also found a marriage record indicating that his parents were John and Catherine Carroll of Ireland. His wife's name was Catherine (Kate) O'Brien and they were married Feb 1870 at St Peter Church. John and his family are buried in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell, MA.
