Hi April Trunick, Did any of your Carroll progeny such as John, later move into York Co SC? I have a Robert Cavis Carroll b. 1840, d. 1863 in CW who had a son named John James Allen Carroll b May 8, 1860. My Robert could be a grandson possibly of this John Carroll. For Bill Ramseur, James H. Downing has an excellent online database of York County, SC Carrolls. Although I don't see your Robert Cavis Carroll after a very quick look, you might with more careful study find a place where he might fit into this family.
