The Press Republic December 22, 1967 DeSoto, Missouri Page 1 Bryan Carroll Dies in Upset On Highway 47 Funeral Was Here Dec. 25; Burial in Tullahoma, Tenn. The funeral for Bryan Carroll, 19, 905 Jefferson, was at 2 p.m. Christmas Day at the United Church of Christ, Third and easton Streets, with the Rev. William Morisseau, pastor, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich Funeral Home. Burial was at 4 p.m. Sunday at Oakwood Cemetery, Tullahoma, Tenn. Bryan's death occurred about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, as a result of an automobile accident on Highway 47 about six miles west of Bonne Terre, just south of the Washington County line in St. Francois County. Bryan Trent Carroll was born Feb. 27, 1946, at Tampa, Fla., a son of James and Billie (McCollum) Carroll. He had resided the past 18 years at DeSoto, and was employed at DeSoto Ben Franklin Store, operated by his family. Surviving with his parents are: two sisters, Mrs. Norman (Carol Ann) Swain, Atlanta, Ga., and Billie Lynne, of the home' and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford L. Carroll, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. O. N. McCollum of Tennessee. According to a report of the State Highway Patrol, Carroll apparently lost control of his car on a curve, it left the road, turned over, and came to rest on its top. A passenger in the car, Ronald Joseph Stewart, 18, of DeSoto, has been released from Bonne Terre Hospital, following treatment. According to unofficial reports, Bryan was pinned under the convertible, and Ronald, though dazed and injured, made his way to a nearby home to obtain help.
