Hi, I am new to the Carroll list and would like to talk to anyone with information on this family. Alfred Carroll's daughter Eliza married Thomas Pate Beck in 1847 in Tishomingo County, Miss. The 1850 census says that Alfred was born in North Carolina and Eliza was born in Tennessee. An extremely kind "cousin" told me that Alfred's first wife was Mary Richardson, and his second wife was Elizabeth Bearding. Some of the confusion that I encounter on the Carroll bulletin boards is that there seems to be two Alfred Carrolls living at the same time of approximately the same age: one Alfred Marrin Carroll and the other Alfred Miles Carroll. And to make matters worse, they were both in Tenn. at some time. The Alfred Carroll I found in Roane County seems to be Alfred Miles, but I'm not 100% sure. I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me with these two families. Linda Brunner in Pa.
