John L. Carroll was born on Staten Island, NY on June 14, 1834. He married Elizabeth Ann Tomlinson on Aug. 15, 1965. She was born in or around St. Louis, MO in 1841. I assume they were married in St. Louis also. Both John L. and Elizabeth Ann were Catholic. They were the parents of seven children: William H. b. April 15, 1867 John A. b. Dec. 17, 1869 Agnes M. b. Aug. 8, 1870 Florence M. b. Dec. 10, 1872 Euphemia E. b. Feb. 2, 1875 Elizabeth I. b. Oct. 8, 1878 Rachel A. b. Jan. 17, 1886 I have no idea who John L. Carroll's parents and siblings were.
