There are, however, two that I insist on: 1) the List is for CARROLL genealogy and submissions are to be directly related to that topic and 2) unpleasant postings will NOT be tolerated. If a someone has something derogatory to say to another subscriber (including the Listowner), say it personally and directly, not to the entire List. Regarding the recent postings: First, the question about the FHC was entirely appropriate. I'm sure that there were others who might have had the same question. Further, it is hard to imagine anyone doing serious research who does not find the Family History Centers a valuable resource. Second, the first response to that question was entirely inappropriate-that individual was removed from the subscriber list. Third, I consider a couple of the dissertations that followed also inappropriate - those senders were also unsubscribed. Further, this is not a "moderated" List. I do not "filter" or attempt to "police" material sent to the List. I see a message at the same time everyone else does. It is my philosophy that the members of the List are, for the vast part, intelligent adults doing serious CARROLL family genealogy research. Enough said. Cal phillipscalvin@prodigy.net
