FHC does indeed mean Family History Center but it refers not to the LDS web site, but rather to any one of hundreds (perhaps thousands?) of local LDS genealogy libraries scattered throughout the US and Canada - and, I believe, the world. They are satellites or local branches of the very large LDS genealogy library in Salt Lake City. Carol
