    3. I have the following information from Wills of Carroll men in NC Any information on these families would be more than appreciated. I am at a preverbial dead end. Bute County Milbrough Carroll, 1774 Names Sons Thomas and Charles. Names a Betty Wilkins but no relationship listed. Gives land in Brunswick County VA to his son Charles John Mosely executor John Carrol, 1814 Granville County, NC Names daughter Polly Harris, daughter Elizabeth (looks like Moore), wife Rebecca John Carroll, 1822, Moore County Daughter Charlotte, son Alexander Carroll, Sons in laws, Edmond Wade and Lindsley Wade, son John Carroll dec., son James B Carroll, son Starling Carroll, daughter Polly Martin wife of John Martin, daughter Huldy Wade, wife of Edmond Wade, sister Wade wife of Lidsley Wade, and the child of my son Jesse Carroll descd.., daughter Susanna. Executor, A W Bryde William Carroll, October 26, 1781, Granville County NC Wife Elizabeth, Son Jesse Carroll, youngest daughter Mary Carroll, son Thomas Carroll, son John Carroll, William Carroll Jr. and Spencer Carroll, daughter Jenny Carroll, daughter Ann Champion, daughter Elizabeth (looks like Garrard or Yard-very hard to read) There was a Moses Carroll that married Margaret Rhew November 3, 1854 in Orange County, NC? Who is this? Lemuel Carroll married Elizabeth Lloyd July 27, 1804 in Orange County. Is he related to Benjamin Carroll? Moses Carell as bondsman for James Cheek and Polley Hobbs February 15, 1809 in Orange County. Would he be a brother of Benjamin? Does anyone know if any of the Benjamin Carrolls of Orange County was a preacher? I have only the following lead to my family. "The great grandfather of my son Carroll (would be born mid 1700's) owned a farm in three miles of Raleigh North Carolina. He had several sons: One Benjamin, who became a preacher, John and Calvin went to Louisiana (John born 1812, Calvin circa 1825) There was also a Moses. " The name Sydney may also somehow be involved but not sure on that one. I include the following information from Granville County as this is associated with Orange County >From History and Genealogies of Old Granville County, NC 1746-1800 June 4, 1755, Joana, abt 13 yrs, Delany 9 yrs, Orphans of Benjamin Carrol, wife Eliza Carrol living, bound to Moses Myrick, former to be Spinster and latter a shoemaker. September 21, 1759 Daniel Carrol of VA enter as securities for Orphans of David Douglas August 14, 1762, Elizabeth Carroll, Guardianship Bond. unto James Paine, Robert Harris and Richard Henderson Esq. Justices of Granville County. John Terrill Jr. guardian of Eliz. Carrol daughter of George Carroll. May 12, 1762, Thomas Carroll witness of Will of William Moss of Duplin County NC Finally, does anyone know who Dixon Carroll was listed in the 1830 census for Orange County, NC? My Calvin was named Calvin Dixon Carroll and the name Dixon was passed down through other generations. Hope to hear from you. Kathy
