My brick wall is James Carroll. He was born in 1851 in East Stoughton (Avon), MA which is about twenty miles south of Boston. His parents were John and Ann Moran Carroll. John came from County Cork and Ann came from County Leitrim. James vanished from the scene around 1880 or so. There is no marriage or death record for him in Massachusetts. I theorize that maybe he went west with his brother, John, who enlisted in the service in San Francisco around 1880. James is mentioned in his father's will which was written around 1890. He must have still been alive then...somewhere. Anybody out there have any connection? Sara in Massachusetts
