Hi John, I'm glad you posted your note again as I owe you feedback from my trip to NJ. It appears your James Carroll from Boonton is the brother of my Lawrence Carroll, (b. Aug 1842, in Ireland, m. Rose Quigley 19 May 1873 in Patterson, NJ and d. 22 Nov 1918, in Boonton). Both James and Lawrence Carroll and their families are buried in St Mary's Cemetery in Boonton. While in NJ I obtained a lot of vital record documentation. Two such documents point to the same parents for James and Lawrence. I have a copy of the Marriage Return for James Carrol and Anne Rowe, who were married in Boonton on 31 May 1882, by Patrick F Downes. Parents are listed for the groom as James, from Ireland and Margaret O'Brien, also from Ireland. Anne's parents are listed as Patrick, from Ireland and Anne Cusick, from Ireland. At the time of their marriage, James was 28 and an Engineer while Anne is listed as 19. Mary Rowe signed as a witness. The Certificate and Record of Death for Lawrence Joseph Carroll lists his parents as James Carroll from Ireland and Margaret O'Brien, also from Ireland. Lawrence was a retired Railroad Engineer. Before my trip to NJ I contacted you to let you know I didn't think we had a match. Now I think we do. Please write to me separately and we can compare notes. I can provide some info on the Carroll side. Thanks.
