    3. This is as far back as I have been able to find. abstract for the will of Henry Carroll of Rockingham Co. NC. Henry Carroll died Dec. 18, 1832. Daughters: Sally Barber, Nancy Overby, Lany (?) M. Carroll Sons: William Carroll, Daniel Carroll, James Carroll, my wife's son Levin McCollister. I believe the William mentioned in the will is my William Carroll who moved to McNairy Co. TN between 1840-1850. Census records list his birthplace as NC or DE or MD.
