I have a Nancy Ann Carroll in my line, she was my grandmother's grandmother. From a family letter I have which was written by a granddaughter of hers she says that Nancy Ann Carroll was born June 17, 1790 in Fairfax, Virginia. When she was about 21 she married (eloped) with James Clemmons and lived in Virginia until 1815. Then, with their two small children, the went to Hopkinsville, Kentucky where they had seven more children (9) in all. At some time in the early 1830's these young people heard of Texas, of Stephen F. Austin and his famous grants of land. The went by wagon to what is now known as Washington County, Texas. She died in Brenham at the home of her grandaughter on November 26, 1862, age 72 years. Written by Mrs.W.H. Cherry at Giddings, Texas. I have been looking for her parents?
