The 1850 census of Sampson County reflects a Raiford Carroll, 57, M, W, Farmer; Sarah, 45, F, W; Mary, 16, F, W; Elizabeth, 14, F, W; Thomas 5, M, W: Stephen 4, M, W; Junius, 2, M, W. David D. Carroll is listed as a shoemaker, age 28, living in household of John Robeson, in the 1850 census. This leads me to believe that Raiford Carroll was married twice.
