David, This has been an interesting and educational exchange on family crests. I've come to realize it could take a lifetime of research to find your Carroll crest -- if there is even one in your line. I cannot even get beyond 1850 for a gg grandfather born in Ireland c. 1790. So just going with something you like the looks of may be your only choice. And if you want to add your own touch to your crest, I think that would be allowable here in America. Do a little research as to what the various items in a crest mean and go with it. As Juhling said, it is probably best not to trust the text found at commercial sites or stores that sell crests. To browse for more crests, search irishsurnames.com or Irish Coats of Arms. I found a few Carrolls there. Also --- Kenny. Are you sure of the spelling of your name? Could be another case of Carrell/Carroll. Good luck and enjoy. Janet _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
