Good morning listers, To answer your questions, Lura, "What is an Iowegian?" An Iowegian is a person whose residence is IOWA. ATTN: MArntz1071@aol Re: Descendency MArntz, your FIVE messages to me arrived WITH ATTACHEMTNS. I'd like to read your comments about my post to the list, however, we make it our practice NOT to accept attachments because of the virus situation, perhaps posting your comments to the list will be easier than sending direct with attachments. Bluecmas77@aol Re: Descendency Bluecmas, your message was short - in fact all it contained was the word "Hi". Guess you hit your 'send' button prematurely. Finally, here's my situation with following my CARROLLs. Martin and Margaret, along with their three daughters Mary (b. ca. 1845; Julia b. ca. 1846; Bridget b. ca. 4848) immigrated to Burlington, Iowa ca. 1852. The only time a point of emigration is mentioned is in Martin's 1881 obit, stating he was from County Kerry. I've checked the Householder's Index for County Kerry without coming to a conculsion as every parish has one or more CARROLL families listed. Some of these family were Protestant landholders. My Carroll family attended the Catholic church in Burlington. Since I have not been able to verify their existence beyond Iowa to their origins in Ireland, I am in a quandry as to what line/sept they descend. Perhaps I am missing an obvious lead as to Martin's and Margaret's origins. Aside from a direct quote from either Martin, Margaret, Mary, Julia or Bridget regarding their parish and/or township, and with only the obit mention of County Kerry, where to look next?
