Alma and Charles, I wonder if either of you could in any way associate your Absolum to any families in Duplin/Sampson County, NC? Family lore says Alexander CARROL/CARRELL came into the colonies near Wilmington, NC. My first knowledge of him was when he married Lucy RYAL/ROYAL in Duplin County in 1783. This would make him a likely candidate to have been a younger brother of your Absolum. Since these families usually traveled together, I thought there might be a link. Do you know of any possibility? Lura: I don't have any information about Absalom Carroll Sr leaving Ireland, arriving in the U.S. and where he first settled. I think his son, Benjamin Franklin Carroll (Sr) was born in SC, then moved to Ms and then to Tx. I really don't see a connection at this time. I'll keep your note and future reference. Thanks for the message and best of luck.
